Cyberattacks are becoming a more serious danger to the energy sector in the Caribbean.
Join the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on May 10 and 11, 2022, for the Caribbean Energy Sector Cybersecurity Forum, which will bring together energy sector stakeholders, cybersecurity experts, international aid organizations, and other practitioners for a two-day discussion, learning, and networking event in the Caribbean. This event, which will include events for people of all levels of cyber awareness, is meant to improve the security and capability of the Caribbean energy industry to deal with the rising threat of cyberattacks.
It is being organized by USAID’s Strengthening Utilities and Promoting Energy Reform (SUPER) program, with additional support from the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The two-day event will promote a better understanding of the rising threat of cyberattacks in the Caribbean, as well as the steps that countries in the region can take to mitigate that threat.
Deloitte, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the Organization of American States, the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), the Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator, and many other organizations will share their knowledge and experience with a wide range of cybersecurity topics, with a particular emphasis on the Caribbean power sector.
