At this event, we commemorate individuals, businesses, programs, the media, and educators who have worked to create an atmosphere in which men and women are appreciated, acknowledged, and heard equally.
The organizers organized the inaugural AYA event in 2020 at the RSA conference to honor all those who have made important contributions to making security and technology more inclusive. It’s honest, sincere, and hopeful. It expresses their desire to create a better world for ourselves and future generations, one in which they feel valued, respected, and connected.
The 2022 Ally of the Year Awards (or AYA) will honor those who are champions of our cause once again.
The winners will be recognized in 11 categories: Company AYA, Male Ally of the Year, Program AYA, Non-profit AYA, Recruiter AYA, Educator AYA, Investor AYA, Philanthropy AYA, Educator AYA, Media AYA, and DEI Champion AYA, all of which must fulfill a set of criteria.
They often discuss what has a real-world influence, and “taking action” is surely one of them. Between talking and doing, there’s a big difference. Many people talk about doing the right thing but never follow through. Many people appear to be doing something when they think or act in a specific manner, but they aren’t. Only a handful of them are actually doing it.
Being an ally is difficult. It necessitates us stepping out of their comfort zones and being unselfish. It implies they they stand up to support the individual or cause, even if it means deviating from our own path.
