When describing the process by which an organization tackles a data breach or cyberattack, the phrase “incidental response” is used to refer to how the company seeks to manage the repercussions of the attack or breach (the “incident”).
It was in reaction to this situation that the “FIRST organization” was established in 1990. Since then, it has continued to expand and adapt in response to the evolving demands of incident response and security teams, as well as the needs of their respective constituents and stakeholders.
