The DATE conference is Europe’s largest gathering of designers, users of design automation, researchers, and suppliers, as well as experts in hardware and software design, test, and manufacture of electronic circuits and systems. DATE focuses on both technology and systems, with ICs/SoCs, reconfigurable hardware and embedded systems, and embedded software among the topics covered.
A conference with normal papers is part of the multi-day event, which also includes panels, hot-topic sessions, tutorials, seminars, special emphasis days, and executives. The event will also feature the Young People Program, the University Fair, and Multi-Partner Projects, all of which will promote networking and information sharing on pertinent concerns, latest research findings, and employment prospects.

DATE has created a unique framework for its events, since the situation around COVID-19 is improving, but safety measures and limitations in Europe and throughout the world will remain unpredictable for the foreseeable future. In preparation for a future post-pandemic event, DATE 2022 will stage a two-day live event in Antwerp to bring the community back together, followed by further events conducted purely online in the days after. This setup combines the in-person experience with the benefits of online activities, fostering networking and social interactions around an interesting program of selected talks and panels on emerging topics to complement the high-quality scientific, technical, and educational activities offered by DATE.
The conference covers all elements of research into electronic and (embedded) systems engineering technology. It involves design automation of electrical devices ranging from integrated circuits to distributed large-scale systems, as well as the design process, test, and tools. This encompasses concerns with both hardware and embedded software architecture. The seminar will also cover the development of design requirements and innovative architectures for difficult application sectors such telecommunications, wireless communications, multimedia, healthcare, and automotive systems. People working on cutting-edge industrial ideas are especially invited to submit papers in order to stimulate feedback from design to research.
