More Information On Their Events

Whilst having had a very stuffy and unapproachable attitude, CREST seems to have laid their arrogance to the side and is, so it seems, finally organizing some relatively decent events.

If you are interested in UK Cybersecurity Conferences there are better ones to attend, but we’ve listed CREST for those that might be aware of this British cybersecurity institution.

CREST is a not-for-profit accreditation body that represents the technical information security industry. As part of this, CREST provides internationally recognized certifications for organizations and individuals providing penetration testing, cyber incident response, cyber threat intelligence, and security architecture services. Member companies undergo a rigorous assessment and certification process that looks at methodologies, legal and regulatory standards, staff vetting, and data handling.

CREST-qualified individuals have passed challenging professional-level examinations that demonstrate their knowledge, skill, and competence. Company assessments and individual qualifications are underpinned by a strict and enforceable code of conduct. CREST examinations and processes have been reviewed and approved by CESG, the Information Security arm of GCHQ. CREST has member companies in a number of countries and a formally established Chapter in Australia

The CREST Cyber Security Incident Response Scheme (CSIR) is endorsed by GCHQ and CPNI and focuses on appropriate standards for incident response from all sectors of industry, the public sector, and academia. In addition, the CREST Security Architecture examination is formally recognized under the UK CESG Certified Professional Scheme.

CREST, jointly with CESG, developed a technical assessment and certification framework for the Cyber Essentials scheme. The CREST assessment and certification for Cyber Essentials balances security and affordability, to enable widespread adoption of the scheme to organizations of all types and sizes.

Working alongside the Bank of England (BoE), CREST developed a framework to deliver controlled, bespoke, intelligence-led cybersecurity tests that replicate behaviors of those threat actors, assessed by Government and commercial intelligence providers as posing a genuine threat to systemically important financial institutions.

CRESTCon UK

Since it has been going on for more than ten years, CRESTCon UK is a significant event that draws a strong speaker roster.

CRESTCon UK 2022 will be held at the Royal College of Physicians once again on July 13.

Over 450 security industry professionals attended the final physical event of 2019 in a variety of roles, including CISOs, senior managers, senior penetration testers, threat intelligence analysts, and brand-new recruits.

Four conference streams, an exhibition and demo space, a student demo room, and an evening drinks and networking event will all be included in the 2022 event.

CRESTCon Australia

CRESTCon Australia is an important event in the calendar of the business, and it draws a distinguished group of speakers together with experts from the field.

CRESTCon Australia is currently in its third year, and it welcomes attendees from the security profession holding a wide variety of positions, ranging from chief information security officers and senior managers to senior penetration testers and threat intelligence analysts, as well as fresh entrants to the industry.

On Thursday, September 28, 2023, CRESTCon Australia 2023 will take place, directly before to BSides Canberra. The call for papers will begin on May 1 and will be open through June 30. If you want to watch footage from prior events, you can head to the CREST YouTube channel.
