Securi-Tay is by far one of the best hacker events in Scotland and also in the United Kingdom.
A group of Ethical Hacking students from Abertay University in sunny Dundee, Scotland, meets every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Abertay Uni Hacklab to discuss information security problems.
In addition to their weekly meetings, the organizers are well-known for producing their annual conference Securi-Tay, which is Europe’s largest student-run information security conference, with the goal of facilitating student interaction with industry.
Their members are well-known for attending several security conferences and events all over the world, and you may have seen some of them present work at these events. Along with security conferences, the Abertay Hackers have a reputation for being extremely competitive at CTF competitions, with many of our teams taking first place.
The majority of their members attend Abertay University, which provides two information security courses: our BSc(Hons) in Ethical Hacking and our MSc in Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security. Both courses are particularly popular because of our lecturers’ hands-on teaching approach and our modules, which imitate work that we might face in the real world.
